Welcome to my site! I am Judith Morales, behavioural and evolutionary ecologist, based at the National Museum of Natural Sciences (Spanish Research Council, CSIC). I am subject editor for Journal of Avian Biology since 2016.

What we do

We study animal social behaviour and the mechanisms underlying its plasticity. Essentially, we are interested in questions such as how flexible decision rules are in social interactions, and how this flexibility is shaped by ontogenetic effects and environmental changes. To explore these questions, we use family life as a model social environment. Our current work combines experimental and phylogenetic comparative approaches, and focuses mainly on wild birds.
